Angie's Story
Larry "Red Dog" Orlando (RHS Class of Jan.64) & I married 12-18-65 in a beautiful Christmas wedding!!! We have 3 children, a son & our oldest, Vick married to Melinda and they have 2 of our grandblessings, Lauren & Tyler. Vick is an administrator at SAISD in San Angelo, Texas & his beautiful wife Melinda teaches elementary. Lauren is a beautiful auburn haired beauty (which thrills her Papa that she got his red hair) in her 5th year of teaching with a Master's degree in Education & her brother, Tyler who graduated college in 2012, is an...athlete au naturale.....in track and plays all sports with football & baseball his forte..his Papa takes credit for that too!! He made NCAA All-American in the Javelin throw for three years in a row.. Larry is walking on clouds. Then he entered & graduated from the San Angelo Fire Academy and a winning heeler in team roping. Toni Dene', is next & she is a high school English teacher & has 3 more of our beautiful grandbabies, Taylor who is in her last year of college is a knock-out, was a member of her high school drill team and she was awarded "Best High Kick" by her peers, and to add to her beauty she also has brains as she is in the top 5% of her class of 638, then there is Tanner who is now 11 and is following in his big sister's footsteps in the academics..smart and handsome and a great baseball and football player, then the youngest of Toni's is Teagan who is 8 and a precious little beauty with a determined streak and one incredible volleyball player..awesome trio!! Our youngest is Gina who's an office manager in the Spring area and has one son, our grandson, Forrest. Forrest is an avid skateboarder and biker and is totally amazing in his skills!!! Forrest has graduated high school and looks so awesome in western attire. So with 3 children, their better halves, and our precious grandchildren..."Life is Good!!" Larry & I have traveled extensively in the USA, hitting all 50 states including Hawaii and Alaska & extensively abroad, all of Europe (our faves Italy and Ireland), Hong Kong, China, Thailand,...Expand for more
Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Aruba, Cayman, and luv it!!!! I have written travel articles for an area newspaper and for others in the state, have become an avid "Flickr" member on Yahoo's Flickr photography website as an outlet for my hobby, photography. Have enjoyed so much working on my family genealogy which resulted in my being approved for membership into the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT), which is very special to me!!! I am currently working with a mentor on my DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) membership. Medical problems have "not" avoided us and I have fought 3 battles with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma cancer but "Praise God" I am in remission and have been for several years now. Larry on the other hand is fighting his own medical battles with heart problems...a 6 By-pass open heart surgery in 2004 & now because of diabetes is on kidney dialysis and on the kidney transplant list at Methodist as we pray that he can get a kidney. ~UPDATE ..Larry got his kidney transplant in Oct 2009... PTL!!! Our faith is strong and we know God is in control. ~UPDATE... we sadly, painfully, tragically lost our youngest daughter, Gina Angela, on November 26th 2012.. and the hole in our hearts will never mend and the memories of our precious baby girl will never be forgotten... she is our angel and one day we will meet again in Heaven at the feet of our precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!!! Then l lost my beloved husband of 50, Larry, on 4-11-15.
The hurt and the grief are sometimes so totally overwhelming but l am leaning on the Lord and He is seeing me through... His grace and mercy are sufficient!!! He is with me and l am truly blessed... as it says in the Bible... "Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted"!!! Found in Matthew 5:4 as part of the Beatitudes from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount which I dearly luv to read over and over in the 5th and 6th chapters of Matthew.
Praying that all who read this are.... happy, healthy, and most of all very blessed!!!
